Come work in a town that was named the “fifth best small town” by Norman Crampton in his book, “The 100 Best Small Towns in America.” Nestled between the West and Connecticut Rivers, this location offers visitors and residents an exceptional variety of activities, arts, entertainment, shopping and dining.
RN needed to start ASAP.
Small unit with 6 beds.
Nursing coverage is 2 on days, 2 on evenings, and 1 on nights.
Primarily 12 hr Days, but may have to work an occasional Night shift as well.
Possibility of floating to ICU occasionally as well, so ideal RN would have both ER and ICU experience.
Unit sees approximately 11,000 patients/yr.
The average night nurse will see anything from 2-8 patients from 11:30pm to 7am.
The RN will have a registration person and Physician in the department with a house wide supervisor as back up.
Responsible for assessing the health status of individuals and groups, establishing nursing diagnoses, identifying and planning goals to meet health care needs, prescribing nursing interventions, implementing the plan of care and evaluating and documenting responses to interventions.
Works with patient population which includes all ages.
Care provided ranges from definitive treatment of non-urgent, urgent or emergency medical/surgical conditions to stabilization and transport of the critically ill or injured.
Must have the ability to work independently with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor’s, Staff nurses and support staff, in a very progressive Emergency Dept.
Graduate of accredited RN program required.
Previous critical care experience required.
Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont.
ACLS and BLS Provider status required.
CCRN, CEN, TNCC, PALS, ENPC a plus.
